Endurance Run Pictures

We had a very exciting day at the Endurance Run last Friday! The weather was perfect and our class did SO GREAT! A few of the students even got medals! Austin made us proud by winning first for all of Grade One! Way to go Austin!

I love these pictures because they finally look like summer pictures!

Now that you have had your daily dose of happiness, I will counter that by confirming the rumors that I am moving at the end of July. My hubby got into a school in Detroit so we are moving to Windsor, Ontario. I feel so grateful to have been able to work in such an incredible school for my first two years of teaching. The staff at this school consists of the most talented teachers and assistants I know and they have been an incredible example to me of how to not only teach to the highest standard, but truly care for students.

I love each of your children for who they are and I have had a blast teaching them this year! They are all so special and kind. Thank you for trusting me and supporting me. You get great kids because of great parents so you should all be very proud, your kids have represented you well.

Ok that's enough mushy stuff, I'm just feeling all sorts of things and they got splattered onto this page.
Have a great week!

Endurance Run, Field Trip, Swimming, and Marathon Club!

Coming up this Friday, May 23 is the Endurance Run. It starts at 8:45 with the Grade 6 girls going first. Grade 1's will be last, but we will be watching and cheering the other grades for the first part of the day. Parents are more than welcome to come watch and support our runners! The top 3 runners from each class will be in the race so from our class we have:

Becky
Addie
Maddie
Austin
AJ
Caleb

I sent home Field Trip forms today. I know they aren't due for quite a while, but if you send them back ASAP, it will prevent them from getting lost! We are going bowling in the morning of June 12 (leaving at 9:15) and then returning to the school in time for lunch. In the afternoon, we will be going swimming at the Raymond Pool until 2:00. It should be a really fun day, I'm hoping for beautiful weather!

We are very fortunate to be able to go swimming at the Raymond Pool in the month of June! Our swimming times are:

June 9-12:45-2:00

Endurance Run and Sports Day

I hope all you mothers got pampered and had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Coming up we have Pizza Day this Wednesday, May 14.

There is NO SCHOOL this Friday, May 16 because of a Professional Development Day where teachers will be making school-wide goals for the upcoming year to enhance student learning.

There is NO SCHOOL Monday, May 19 because of Victoria Day.

May 23 is the Endurance Run at the track beginning at 8:45 with the grade 6 girls. Because of safety concerns, this race has been taking place during your child's phys. ed. classes and the top three runners from each class will race on the 23rd. I am not sure what time the grade one's will be racing at and who will be running from our class, but I will keep you updated!

The Sports Day for all grade 1, 2, and 3 students will be held of Friday, June 6. Each student will not be allowed to leave the track area for the day. There will be a hamburger lunch offered for the students to purchase, but in order to help us stay organized, we are asking for them to order and purchase in advance:

Hamburger-$3.00              Chips-$1.00            Pop or Water-$1.00

All proceeds from the concession will go to the Music program to help fund new instruments. If your child does not want to purchase a hamburger, they will need to bring their lunch. A note was sent home today regarding the Sports Day with an order form attached for the meal. All orders are due May 29.

Just a reminder that if your child is running miles at home for the Marathon Club, please write it down in their agenda (how far they ran) and I will record it in their log books!

Thanks for checkin' in!
